Maryanna’s Easy Patchwork Quilt

Maryanna’s dog, Winnie, was the best sewing buddy and liked to claim quilts for herself. This was the last quilt she sat her little booty on and claimed for herself before she passed away so Maryanna knew she wanted to keep the quilt as a way to still hold Winnie close.

Maryanna wanted the quilting to somehow reflect Winnie. After chatting and watching a few short hiking videos to get a feel for Winnie, we found our way to a free hand topography map with Winnie’s path wandering across the quilt.

You can see the quilting best on the back. (This was my first time using minky for a backing and it was a breeze! Send me all your minky!)

These three topo areas show where Winnie’s bum and paws were in the last of Winnie’s quilt photos.
