Michelle’s Half-Square Triangle Quilt

Michelle won free quilting by donating to my July 2021 fundraiser for the Loveland Foundation. Their therapy fund provides financial support and access to mental health professionals who provide high quality and culturally competent services to Black women and girls. Together as a group, we raised enough for about 1.5 therapy sessions through a combination of individual donations and the percentage of my quilting income for July!

Michelle chose the Moulin Rouge pantograph with medium grey thread and it all worked so perfectly together!

Michelle used wool batting, which is always so, so dreamy and soft. The texture of this quilt reignited my love for wool batting and I’m using it for at least 3 of my own quilts!

The backing was Speckled wideback by Rashida Coleman-Hale of Ruby Star Society. The RSS widebacks are so incredibly soft and silky - highly pet-able! This is the second or third quilt I’ve done with the RSS wideback, plus I have it on deck in 4 different prints/colors for this year’s teacher quilts. And softness aside, check out the grey thread on the black speckled. Oh, la, la!
