Hi Everyone! I know I've been M.I.A. for quite some time...like about 2 trimesters. But it took a while to finish this WIP:
Our daughter Catherine was born on August 9! She's pretty friggin' amazing too, if you ask me! We've been enjoying the past month of snuggles and tiny toes and funny faces and all of those awesome new baby moments!
I actually spent the last 6-7 months making tons of quilts and quilt tops and even a couple of baskets. What I did not do was immortalize said quilts and quilt tops and baskets in photos. But I'll see what I can pull together by way of evidence of my productivity!
For now, I've clearly lost my mind and I'm joining in on the Marcelle Medallion Quilt Along hosted by Penny Poppleton (Flickr group here). That's right...1 month old baby + Marcelle Medallion...is there any way I can pull this off? We'll see, but so far, so good! Thanks to the awesomeness and generosity of my girl Lisa, who sent me foundation piecing templates, I got the center star pieced! WHAT!?!
I'm using this bundle from Westwood Acres as my color palette (I've been hoarding it forever!)
And this giant mess is my fabric pull for the quilt (I know...it's out of control...whatever...)
So this week we add the first two borders. I really, really, really want to make this quilt and keeping up with the quilt along might be the only way for that to happen...so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that I can find enough sewing time in between baby snuggles! (So far, the baby snuggles are winning though and I feel pretty good about it!)
