Finally!!!

I FINALLY got my do. Good Stitches quilt quilted, bound, washed, and shipped out!!  (Note: that was the status when I started writing this post approximately a thousand weeks ago...so by now it should be in use at Alternatives for Girls!  WOOHOO!)
So here's the short version.  I picked this pattern.  I wanted to make it big (~67"x84-ish") just in case it went to live with a shelter resident.  A big quilt calls for lots o' blocks.  My Empower Girls came through in a BIG, HUGE, SPECTACULAR way and every single person sent me at least 4 squares!!!  (WHAT?!? That's twice as many blocks as we usually make...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!)
For the backing I found a really nice flannel at Joann.  (You know how sometimes Joann pretends a fabric is flannel but it's really burlap?  Well, they couldn't fool me!  I got me a soft one with a cute little flowery-snowflake kind of print.)  I decided to do a little stippling...it had been too long since I last stippled...it was so fun and it's such a satisfying pattern for me!
I wish I had taken some close-ups of the individual blocks...they were all fantastic!  I'm talking seriously amazing!!  (I loved everyone's fabric choices so much that I even managed to track down a few of the prints for my own stash!)

I am just so in love with my Empower ladies!!!  They are sweet, and creative, and generous and they made this quilt!!  Thanks gals!
