Lost

I got about 90% of the quilting done on my do. Good Stitches quilt....I was in the home stretch...and then my baby started skipping stitches.  BOOOO!!!  HISSSS!!!
I knew I was overdue for a tuneup.  I've had this machine for about 3 years and it has never had a checkup.  So I finally sucked it up and took it in...and now I have 5-8 more days of waiting...and not sewing...  I feel lost.  What's a girl supposed to do without a sewing machine?

  2. I have so been there my friend. About 75% quilting a baby quilt for the baby my cousin adopted and I'm headed to a family reunion to meet her and my machine did the same thing. I cleaned my sewing room instead. And hated every minute of it! Hope you get it back quickly! ;)

p.s. can't wait to see the finished quilt. Those colors are looking awesome together!

  3. The quilt is beautiful and I'm sorry you're in sewing withdrawal. How about knitting to pass the time? I find it keeps my hands busy when watching tv or visiting.

  5. The same thing happened to me before. Luckily, I had a friend who was able to lend me hers for a few days. You could also check with your machine shop to see if they could loan or rent you one for the time yours is being fixed.

  6. did you try changing the needle first? I have had my machine go out of time twice, and luckily it only took ONE day the second time! It was a miracle! (and still in warranty from the first 'retime', yaa!)
