November is my month for do. Good Stitches. (I'm so excited!!) I decided on the Garden Fence block from Hyacinth Designs. I've seen a few of these quilts floating around Flickr and Blogland and I'm kind of obsessed with them! I have also been dying (dying, I tell you!) to make a quilt using ye olde aqua/turquoise/orange/gray scheme - so BAM! my bee block came together! Instead of the white we're using Kona Ash for the borders and connecting bits. I already got my first 4 blocks in the mail (I'm not saying for sure, but I may have spotted the envelope, dropped my lunch bag like a hot potato, and thrown the blocks on my design wall within 9 seconds of coming home that day!) and I just saw more lovelies pop up in the Flickr Group!!! I love 'em, I love 'em, I love 'em!!!
I made 4 blocks of my own over the weekend

Clearly the color is a little off...that's actually Ash in all of them...not periwinkle, damnit!! |
What are the oranges you used in your blocks? I have some Kona 'Tangerine', but I was afraid it will be entirely too orange and will look not good. BUT now that I'm looking at your blocks, I'm thinking it might fit in!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis block was great to put together!
ReplyDeleteLove those blocks! The Ash looks like Ash on my screen though... must be cos whoever cut that for you at your LQS is just awesome LOL!
ReplyDeleteThose are great blocks! The orange/aqua color combo never gets old in my book.
