Are you still there?  I've missed you, bloggy peeps!  I can't believe it's been so long sine my last post!   Despite my new crazy and hectic schedule, I have actually managed to be crafty...I have not managed to take pictures and write blog posts...until today!  So here's a quick update:

I finished the wedding quilt for my friend!
(it was a little windy!)
I used Heather's Yield pattern and I scaled it up to make a queen size.  It was magically easy!  Except for that outer cream border...I seem to stink at adding long border pieces.  I don't know why.  They should be so easy but somehow mine always end up a little wiggly and I have to redo them...but I only had to redo these once...not so bad!

I pieced the back again but those pictures didn't come out so great...and I threw it in the wash before I checked the photos...(but I'll show you anyway...)

The most exciting part of the backing was the main fabric.  I used Lace Elements in Pearl.  It's just so pretty and so soft!  I might have to get a little more for myself!
For the quilting I did straight lines, 2 inches apart.  (And I quilted the happy couple's names and wedding date in at the bottom!)  Somehow, despite the fact that it's a beastly size quilt, I made it through the quilting with NO PROBLEMS!  Say what?!?

The last few times I quilted straight lines I used my stitch guide or painter's tape, but this time I actually marked the quilt top.  It took some time to mark it, but it was easier for me to keep the lines straight.  So I guess I'm going to have to suck it up from now on and mark the tops...sigh...

The colors came from the wedding palette and I LOVE them.  (I'm so glad I got a little extra of each color for my stash!)  As usual, I'm really attached to this quilt and I kind of want to snuggle up under it!  Hopefully the bride and groom will feel the same!
